Information we collect
We collect information you choose to send through the site’s contact form, verification enquiry, partner application, and Land Title Assessment form. This may include your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country or location, project details, property information, documents or title information, professional profile, and any other message or attachment you provide.
Why we collect it
We use this information to respond to enquiries, understand and scope a requested service, coordinate a verification or project, assess a partner application, arrange Land Title Assessment follow-up, communicate with you, keep appropriate business records, and improve how the site and services work. We only seek information that is reasonably relevant to those purposes.
Lawful bases
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, we use the lawful basis that fits the particular purpose. This may be your consent, performance of a contract or steps requested before entering into a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests balanced against your rights and freedoms, or protection of vital interests where applicable. Consent is not the basis for everything: where another lawful basis applies, we may process information without relying on consent.
How information is stored and used
Information submitted through the site is transmitted to the systems used to receive and manage enquiries and may be accessible to authorised people working on the relevant request. We use it for the purpose for which it was provided, for related administration, and where necessary to protect the site, prevent misuse, or comply with legal obligations. We do not sell enquiry information. APEX EXPAT CONSULTING LTD. is the controller for information it decides how to use.
Sharing with professionals and service providers
With your instructions or where needed to carry out an agreed scope, we may share relevant information with third-party professionals, vendors, field representatives, government-facing service providers, technology providers, email providers, hosting providers, or other service providers. We aim to share only what is reasonably needed and expect independent professionals to handle information in line with their own duties and applicable law. Independent professionals may separately control data they receive, under their own privacy notices.
International transfers
Providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where a transfer is made, we will use contractual, organisational, or other safeguards required by applicable law and assess the destination and provider before transfer where required.
Retention
We keep information only for as long as needed for the relevant purpose, subject to the following schedule:
- Enquiry records: up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact.
- Client engagement and transaction records: 7 years after completion or for the period required by law.
- Unsuccessful partner applications: 12 months.
- Identity, property, and proof-of-funds documents: only for the engagement and the necessary legal or compliance period, then securely deleted or returned where practicable.
Legal holds or regulatory requirements may extend retention. We securely delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, where reasonably practicable.
Security and personal-data breaches
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No internet transmission or storage system can be promised completely secure, so please avoid sending information that is not necessary for your enquiry. If a reportable personal-data breach occurs, we will assess it and notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within the legally required period, including the 72-hour requirement where applicable, and notify affected persons where legally required or where there is a high risk to them.
Your requests and rights
Subject to applicable law and necessary verification, you may ask for access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure where lawful, restriction of processing, or object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. You may also request portability where applicable and complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). We may need to verify your identity and explain any lawful reason we cannot complete a request.
For a practical route to exercise these rights or ask a privacy question, write to info@apexexpat.com or assessments@apexexpat.com.
Data-protection contact
For data-protection questions, contact info@apexexpat.com or assessments@apexexpat.com. The company will identify or appoint a data protection officer or responsible privacy contact where required by law.
